The Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) develops relationships with STEM and non-STEM employers alike to provide a range of employment and experiential opportunities, including internships, co-ops and full-time positions, and Arch at Rensselaer Semester Away opportunities.
The Arch at Rensselaer provides a full on-campus summer semester after the student’s sophomore year, with a subsequent semester away during the fall or spring of the student’s junior year. The Arch Semester Away is an opportunity for students to pursue their passion, follow their dreams, and make a difference all while gaining valuable experience during the fall or spring semester of their junior year.
The CCPD seeks an Associate Director for Employer Relations to manage and lead an employer relations team in the creation and execution of a plan for cultivating and maintaining employer relationships for on-campus recruiting and experiential learning. The employer relations team will increase the number of full-time, co-op, internship, and Arch away opportunities for Rensselaer students. The team will build and maintain employer relationships across all industry sectors, private, non-profit and government. The Associate Director will continually identify ways to engage employers with the Institute with the goal of developing long-term relationships that support the CCPD initiatives and institutional priorities, including the ARCH at Rensselaer.
We seek candidates with a Master’s degree and five (5) or more years of experience in a corporate/industry or university career services environment including supervisory experience. Experience must include substantive work with assessment, data tracking and report formulation. Travel is necessary with occasional overnight stays.
The incumbent must be a compelling communicator, with the ability to influence others in order to meet organizational goals. Candidates must have a history of building collaborative relationships with diverse constituencies, and show a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and have demonstrated strong skills in the immediate supervision of staff.
