Under the general direction of the Director of Career and Professional Development in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, plans, organizes and delivers career and professional development activities for College of Social and Behavioral Sciences undergraduates and recent graduates in cooperation with dean(s), department heads, faculty and administrators. Tailored to the needs of the particular program or area, these activities may include individual counseling, career coaching, career and professional development education programs, alumni mentoring and shadowing events, career research and resource development, and guidance on major selection and preparation.
Bachelor's degree required in Education, Psychology, or other relevant field of Three years of experience College-level career counseling, advising, placement, human resources, or field experience activities, required.
Master's degree in Higher Education, Psychology or other relevant field of study and two years of experience College-level career counseling, advising, placement, human resources, or field experience activities,
Current knowledge of the job market, occupational outcomes of a variety of disciplines, and knowledge of and ability to advise students using established career guidance and coaching methods and job search Ability to perform evaluations, analyze circumstances, and offer advice using a holistic and balanced approach, required.
Ability to work individually on self-directed assignments, with minimum supervision, and collaboratively in Ability to prioritize, make sound and mature decisions, adjust to varying or changing situations and willingness and initiative to take on a variety of tasks, required.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, oral and written communication Ability to collaborate and interact with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and the public in a friendly and professional manner.
