Join the Career Center at UC Berkeley as a member of a dynamic counseling team, providing innovative and comprehensive career services. We work with a wide spectrum of customers including undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni. In alignment with the Career Center’s direction of providing customized service to our constituencies, this position provides specialized counseling, consulting and programming for students in the Haas School of Business. This professional will develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate career services, resources, and programs for the undergraduates at Haas and foster strong, collaborative relationships with faculty, staff and employers. Ideal candidates understand the needs of students who have a strong focus on business-related career opportunities and are able to design and offer customized, effective programming to serve their needs.
Provide career counseling services and related programming for undergraduate students in the Haas School of Business regarding career decision-making, self-assessment, career options, goal setting, career research, and the job/internship search process.
Lead a two-person counselor team that delivers targeted programs, services and information to students in the Haas School of Business. Research, design and plan a strategy for delivery of broad and complex career-focused programs and events for undergraduate Haas students that incorporate the needs of campus partners and constituents, including a large-scale “career conference” featuring numerous components.
Establish new relationships with corporations and other organizations related to career services and internship opportunities for Haas students. Promote partnerships and play a key role in the campus's relationship with outside organizations. Consult with employers regarding optimal marketing strategies to reach students and to collaborate on events and workshops.
Work collaboratively with staff from the Haas School of Business on a regular basis to determine best service needs for their students.
Develop tailored e-mail communications and other written materials customized to Haas students. Write and maintain specific sections of the Career Center web site and social media outlets, and contribute to unit publications.
Conduct ongoing needs assessments/surveys; collect and report on data related to service delivery and outcomes. Analyze and address unique issues and problems concerning career services and/or marketplace trends for Haas students.
Act as coordinator for various career fairs and events such as the Investment Banking and Consulting Forums.
Coordinate the School’s and Career Center’s information for all external surveys and ensure a high rate of participation by students.
Participate on unit-wide committees and projects.

A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Career Development, Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
Demonstrated experience providing career coaching to address a broad range of career/employment issues.
Advanced knowledge of employer recruiting strategies, job market trends, occupational, career and employment information sources as well as the application process for graduate and professional school.
Experience designing and delivering career-related workshops and programs.
An advanced understanding and ability to work with and serve individuals from diverse backgrounds utilizing cross-cultural counseling skills.
Demonstrated skill in establishing effective working relationships with staff of all levels, faculty, employers and alumni.
Experience and proficiency with incorporating the use of technology to deliver career services.
Strong communication skills – writing, presentation and interpersonal.
