The Career Counselor provides career counseling and advice to all undergraduate and graduate students such that CLASS, the Arch, and the Cooperative Education Program are fully supported. The Career Counselor serves as the CCPD liaison to one of Rensselaer’s five schools and builds partnerships on campus to support career development. The Career Counselor also serves as the CCPD’s CLASS point person for one of class years.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Education, Counseling or related field. Candidates are expected to have two (2) years of professional experience in fields related to student programming.
The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills; along with strong organizational skills and excellent customer service skills. Additionally candidates are expected to have the ability to work effectively under pressure, meet established goals and objectives. The successful candidates must have the ability to work with a diverse population and demonstrate skills in counseling, interpersonal communication and written communication focusing on a traditional college-age student population.
