The University Relationship Manager role is central to this strategy, raising awareness of our award winning Graduate Program among university staff and supporting our partner schools in developing students’ skills and the ability to succeed within a digital career.
You’ll be a natural net-worker and enjoy working as part a team, based in Reston, Virginia as part of the Graduate Recruitment team. You’ll be responsible for implementing and developing the university partnerships that are so important to our business to make FDM the first choice destination for technical and business graduates interested in a career in the technology sector.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic development – contribute to university strategy for Virginia and surrounding areas in order to identify key targets for recruitment.
Stakeholder management - establish and develop university relationships in the region to increase the number of preferred FDM suppliers and hires from each School.
Event coordination – plan and facilitate all university related recruitment events, including job fairs, corporate workshops, hackathons and networking sessions on behalf of FDM.
Recruitment data - maintain relevant reporting metrics for university activities reviewing effectiveness of all university activities.
University and recruitment targets – deliver individual work to target reporting activity weekly to UK and NA Partnership Manager.
Internal relationships - liaise with University Relationship Managers in New York and Toronto to ensure joined up approach and share good practice.
Assessment process – contribute to remote and in-house assessment center activity (delivering interviews, welcome talks etc.).
Support Recruitment colleagues – work closely with Reston Recruitment team to ensure university activity is effective in providing a talent pipeline into the Graduate Program.
Recruitment targets - assist the Reston Recruitment Team Lead (and the NA Recruitment Manager) in setting appropriate recruitment targets and university activities for the recruitment team.
Internal relationships – work with colleagues in Sales, Marketing, HR and the Academy to ensure that university activities feed into the wider business requirements.
External professional bodies – contribute to appropriate professional networks. such as NACE, representing FDM across the sector.
Internships - contribute to the recruitment process of NA summer intern program.
Lead and contribute to special projects as identified.
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
An understanding of the US university sector and the employability drivers operating within it.
Understanding of the graduate recruitment market and the internal and external influences.
Effective verbal and written professional communication; professional and outgoing approach; ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders; confidence when delivering presentations.
Willingness to travel.

Working experience in the careers department or corporate engagement department of a US university.
