To assist in providing direction, leadership, and innovative concepts in the Office of Career & Professional Development in the Division of Student Affairs at UAB. To oversee, through both initiative and collaboration, the career education, professional development and innovation element of the department. To collaborate with department leadership to develop and execute innovative career and professional development programs. To create, monitor and evaluate programming in the department.
More specifically, mentors staff on assessment interpretation and National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and National Career Development Association (NCDA) best practices. Oversees, coordinates and supports University career courses, and serves as a career course instructor as needed. Monitors resource use by students, tracks appointments and reviews with staff to make necessary adjustments. Conducts benchmark studies to ensure the department is providing innovative, exemplary resources, services, and programs to students and alumni. Collaborates with Academic Advising Centers to promote and increase enrollment.
Master's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
