Facilitates the development and expansion of internships for the College of Humanities. Acts as the college’s primary contact for internship coordination and serves as internship resource in University-wide committees. This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Affairs and will serve as a principle internship resource and college representative on the campus-wide Internship Coordinating Council.

COMPENSATION: $46,000 annually.
WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Serves as the college lead for internship programs by acting as liaison to students, college administration, departments and programs, employers, and campus partners. 2. Participates in University-wide committees to coordinate best practices, campus-wide internship initiatives, legal issues, and campus internship culture. 3. Collaborates with college administration, departments and programs to identify internship needs and engages with employers to create internship opportunities. 4. Advises undergraduate students on internship options, policies, and alignment with academic and career goals. 5. Liaises with College Curriculum Committee and Undergraduate Academic Advising to ensure for-credit internships meet academic standards. 6. Liaises with academic units to ensure uniform guidelines for internship supervision, appropriate prerequisites, and standard application processes. 7. Educates internal and external stakeholders about intern recruitment strategies and the creation of appropriate internship positions. 8. Utilizes relevant education tools to engage with employers, post internship opportunities, and track internship participation. 9. Collects, maintains, and analyzes internship participation data and works to expand internship tracking efforts. 10. Monitors quality and effectiveness of internship initiatives and researches improvement methods. Bachelor’s degree in related area and two years of related experience, or equivalency, required. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
• Master’s degree in related field and/or related work experience • Experience working in higher education, particularly in the areas of career services or academic advising and/or experience in a business human resources setting. • Understanding of state and federal internship guidelines and labor laws, NACE standards and benchmarking, and internship practice regarding CPT/OPT for international students.
