Gannon University, a Catholic university, seeks an Assistant Director for Career Preparation to serve as a member of the Career Exploration and Development team. Knowledge of career and student development theories, learning outcomes and objectives, and assessment combined with exceptional communication skills are just some of the key strengths needed for this position. The successful candidate will develop career preparation initiatives meant for experiences inside and outside of classroom environments, and provide leadership to the mentoring and shadowing programs meant to connect and engage students with alumni and other professionals. Working closely with the Director, faculty, and other key personnel, the assistant director will also work to enhance internship opportunities through the inclusion of best practices pertaining to career readiness, supervision, and assessment. Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree; a master's degree in higher education, college student personnel, counseling, human resources, or a related discipline is preferred. Two plus years of experience in higher education working directly with students, faculty and key stakeholders is required. Experience in career services is preferred. An ability to leverage assessment in an educational environment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multi-task with strong attention to details are important skill sets for this position. A valid driver's license is required.
