Job Summary: This full-time Director provides leadership to the High-Impact Practices and Experiential Learning unit in the office of Career Development and Community Engagement. The Director will work across all of UWF’s degree programs in collaboration with faculty, directors, curriculum committees, and senior administrators to ensure that UWF has a robust portfolio of experiential learning activities and other student engagement initiatives throughout students’ academic career. This person must have knowledge of high-impact and experiential learning principles, standards, and practices and must be able to effectively interact with internal stakeholders and external organizations to promote UWF students and programs.
Administration, Budget, Strategic Planning & Assessment: Lead the High-Impact and Experiential Learning (HIP/EL) unit in UWF’s office of Career Development and Community Engagement. This includes the direct supervision of professional and student staff, budget allocations related to HIP/EL activities and initiatives, and strategic planning for the unit and CDCE. Contribute to and enforce University policy related to High-Impact Practices and Experiential Learning. Establish and maintain key performance indicators related to engagement of students, faculty, and community members. Develop and provide various reports for University constituents. 40%
Collaboration and Involvement: Chair a University-wide HIP steering committee including recruiting and mentoring various workgroups related to enhancing quality of HIP’s at UWF. Represent CDCE and HIP/EL initiatives on university-wide initiatives and task forces. Serve as a consultant to faculty and staff for the purposes of creating and maintaining HIP’s. 30%
Community Outreach: Facilitate relationships between external and campus constituents for the purposes of maintaining and establishing quality HIP and EL programs. 20%
Student Outreach/Career Coaching and Planning: Assist in the area of career planning and coaching by providing formal and informal career education experiences to students in line with career coaching/planning policy. Facilitate group presentations, individual career coaching, class presentations, etc. to current students and alumni, specifically related to HIP/EL programs. 5%
Technology and Marketing: Collaborate with Divisional and University marketing personnel to produce materials aimed at increasing participation in HIP/EL programs and services for students, faculty, and external partners. Implement procedures related to the HIP/EL functions of the Handshake career management system. 5%

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree preferred with four years of appropriate experience. Extensive knowledge in the areas of high-impact practices, assessment, experiential learning guidelines and policies.
