Assistant Director for Internship and Employer Engagement

The Assistant Director for Internship and Employer Engagement for the School of Public Health and Health Science (SPHHS) is responsible for internship and job development, employer outreach and liaison, and the support and supervision of students who are placed. S/he initiates and maintains contact with business, industrial and government offices in order to develop and maintain appropriate experiential internships/co-ops/job opportunities for students as well as employer based field trips and shadowing opportunities. The Assistant Director advises students of the program about Mt. Ida housing requirements and works closely with and maintains liaison with faculty in academic departments, Mt. Ida campus staff, alumni, University Communications dept., and employers in order to publicize opportunities and recruit qualified students for the program. S/he maintains contact with employers to develop student positions and to maintain contractual agreements such as affiliation agreements and on boarding documentation with employers.
