The successful candidate will create, promote and elevate employer engagement priorities, specifically in promoting campus-wide student talent and diversity to local, national and global employers.
Research and collect data across campus to identify and highlight the marketable skills and career competencies that students develop throughout their educational journey, including co-curricular and extra-curricular programs such as student success initiatives. Engage in employer strategy and education to advocate on behalf of students and their experiences and to promote the diverse student body beyond the discussion of majors.
Initiate, advance, and lead the creation, implementation, and maintenance of resources, recruiting guides, training opportunities, and toolkits for employers, students, staff, faculty, and parents to increase employer access to all students across disciplines for recruiting and career education purposes.
Develop innovative employer engagement experiences focused on marketable skills and career competencies. Conduct outreach and report on program metrics.
Regularly track and collect relevant employer and recruiting data for weekly, monthly, and annual reports and presentations.
Support and promote student and employer utilization of the HireUTexas powered by Handshake platform.
Collaborate with campus partners and employers to identify success stories that can be promoted via social media.
Work with Texas Career Engagement staff and other offices to coordinate recruiting activities.
Represent Texas Career Engagement at high-profile events, committee meetings and work-groups. Attend conferences and professional development meetings pertinent to creating recruiting connections.
Required qualifications Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of demonstrated experience in relationship development and/or marketing with proven results. Proven experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with a variety of constituents that resulted in employment and/or business opportunities. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective rapport with a diverse group of employers. Experience creating and managing or leading programs. Project management and large- and small-scale event planning skills with proven attention to detail. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate will exceed the required qualifications and have proficient knowledge of university-level academic majors, departments and units; diverse career industries; and employment-related skill sets and competencies. Experience with current and future recruiting methods and technology. Knowledge of corporate recruiting policies.
