High Point University is seeking a full-time Director of Corporate Relations to work for the Office of Career and Professional Development. The holder of this position will identify and work closely with local, regional, national, and international employers to develop and grow mutually beneficial relationships to increase the number and quality of job and internship opportunities for High Point University students.
Develops, manages, and implements a strategic outreach plan to significantly increase the amount of new partnerships with employers and industry professionals to create internship and full-time job opportunities for High Point University students; this includes identifying, evaluating, initiating and building personal relationships with existing and new employers and industry professionals, alumni and parent networks, university relationships, and other outreach initiatives.
Maintains a current and accurate data base of suspects, prospects, contact information and activity, (planned and completed) and track your progress daily against target activity goals set to meet your strategic goals.
Manages and perform inbound and outbound recruiting telephone calls/emails/inquiries while providing the highest levels of customer service in following up for recruitment and other issues.
Partners with Employer Relations Specialist, establish and build strategic relationships with employers while providing exceptional customer satisfaction to increase employer engagement, involvement, and recruiting activity on campus
Disseminates information gathered from employers to Career and Professional Development staff to better inform them of industry trends and life skill development initiatives.
Develops influential marketing and social media strategies and materials (print and digital) to bring greater visibility of High Point University to employers and increase the amount of on-campus recruitment and engagement opportunities, ultimately growing the number of internship and full-time opportunities for High Point University students
Develops and maintain in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of the University’s academic and extracurricular programs and communicate the benefits of having High Point University students as interns and full-time employees
Meets quarterly and annual goals/targets.
Contributes to university initiatives and committee meetings as needed.
Represents High Point University as needed during special events, including Family Weekends, Orientation, and Early Registration that may occur on nights and/or weekends.
Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with Career and Professional Development team, other staff and faculty members, students, employers, and other constituencies and networks (e.g., High Point University parents, alums).
This position requires some local and overnight travel.
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President of Career and Professional Development and Vice President for Experiential Learning and Career Development.
Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred
Two years of experience in career services, workforce development, business, recruiting, placement services, human resources, or sales and marketing; demonstrated experience in employer relations, client/customer relationships, negotiation and strategic planning preferred
Strong interpersonal skills
Unquestioned work ethic, professionalism in work and personal presence, and customer service particularly with employers
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the Internet
Detail-oriented, strength in time-management and organizational skills
Capability to work collaboratively among various stakeholders (e.g., employers, faculty, staff)
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; ability to build rapport with employers, students, faculty, and staff
Outstanding professional communication and writing skills
Strong presentation, public speaking, technology, and social media skills; active presence on LinkedIn
Skilled in the art of influence and persuasion
Ability to travel as required; valid driver license with good driving record; must be insurable
