Position Overview:  The Associate Director of Career and Service Engagement serves Manchester University students and alumni in career development and exploration. The position works with outside constituents to increase the number and quality of employment, internship and service opportunities available to Manchester students.   

Essential job functions:

• Assist students in securing employment, internship, and volunteer opportunities.
• Coordinate engaging internship and service programs.
• Lead and collaborate with office staff in the creation and implementation of external relations programming including internships, networking events, employer site visits, on-campus recruiting, and service projects.
• Create avenues (events, workshops, fairs, class and club presentations, newsletters, marketing, etc.) through which career and service-related information and opportunities may be provided to students, alumni, employers, organizations and other interested persons.
• Conduct employer outreach meetings and foster greater interest in liberal arts graduates.
• Provide career coaching and assist students, alumni, and interested individuals in the exploration, evaluation, and implementation of career goals that reflect their life values.
• Participate in community activities through local chambers of commerce, work groups, and leadership activities to expand the number, quality and diversity of professional opportunities available.
• Provide general administration and management of the department in absence of the Director.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Secondary job functions:

• Serve as a Success Advisor and provide holistic support (individual and group) to new, transfer, and continuing students from a variety of backgrounds to identify and address challenges/needs
• Teach a First Year Experience Course (FYE) for first semester students
• Participate in Student Life and University events, committees or working groups as requested

Work schedule:  This is a full-time (40 hours per week), 12-month position. Occasional deviations from this schedule will be necessary to complete responsibilities.  Occasional travel will be required to employer sites as well as the Fort Wayne campus.
