Reporting to the Senior Associate Executive Director of Experience, the Director II, Alumni Career Engagement, is responsible for overseeing the strategic plan for the career services program, including growing the professional networking opportunities for post-graduate alumni to support career development and developing different approaches to help alumni get the tools and resources they need to be competitive in the workforce. This position will expand program activities to a wider scale audience by offering online services along with face-to-face opportunities and events.
As a key member of the Alumni Experience unit, this position drives the alumni career-related design and evaluation across all markets, through collaboration with other alumni engagement colleagues about how career engagement is delivered to markets such as geographic regions, college specific markets, identity, community networks, etc.
The successful candidate will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the first day of employment.
Work Location
The location for this position is either the CH2MHill located on the OSU Campus or the Foundation’s Portland, OR office.
The Foundation offers a program called Core Work Days, a hybrid approach combining remote and in-office work days. Unless traveling for work, Foundation employees are in office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and work remotely, if preferred, on Monday and Friday.

Major Duties
Develop and Coordinate Alumni Career Services Programming
Create and implement the overall strategic plan, with measurable outcomes, for the career services program and networking initiatives. Evaluate effectiveness of program offerings, make recommendations for changes, and implement changes to improve activities and events.
Develop and oversee budget for alumni career services and help secure sponsorships for events as needed.
Actively manage OSU Connections online mentoring and advising network; ensure user activation and growth.
Create activities and events that advance Oregon State University and engage alumni and friends in creative and energetic new ways.
Partner with alumni engagement colleagues and campus partners to achieve participation goals for activities, events, and professional networking opportunities.
Manage timing, details, and programming for events. Coordinate and book venue or event space as needed.
Execute high quality career development program opportunities where participants have memorable experiences the leave them eager for further engagement.
Oversee the work of outsourced contracts / vendors for certain aspects of program development; ensure campus stakeholders interests are met.
Coordinate with the Oregon State University Career Services program, colleges, and departments to help promote alumni/student career networking.
Develop and facilitate career related workshops and webinars, as well as partner with third party vendors/providers to present workshops and career skill building seminars throughout the region.
Provide coaching in job search skills such as resume critique and development, interviewing skills, salary negotiation and job search strategies.
Partner with alumni engagement staff to coordinate other activities and events as needed.
Administer and Manage Key Networking Technology Platforms
OSU Connections – Continue to develop and grow the OSU Connections platform and program offerings for post-graduate career assistance, networking, forums, events, services virtual connections and volunteer opportunities for OSU’s diverse alumni population including:
Oversee program strategy, coordination, and execution.
Manage portal growth and user activation, consistent with the organization’s annual vital few goals and operating objectives.
Build programming and content for colleagues who deliver the content/programming to alumni segments.
Supervise of interns who support program execution and delivery.
Confer with campus partners involved in the new initiative to help plan and coordinate efforts.
Understand the service design and associated framework and encourage others to engage across the network.
Coordinate with the Director, Digital Engagement, and the Advancement Services team to share data captured and incorporate new ROE metrics associated with the offerings they design.
Partner with marketing team to produce and send monthly email digest to those signed up for OSU Connections.
LinkedIn Beaver Career Group - Identify opportunities, plan, and prepare promotional material to encourage and increase membership in the new LinkedIn Beaver Career Group initiative.
Confer with campus partners involved in the new LinkedIn initiative to help plan and coordinate efforts.
Actively solicit enrollment and plan strategies to build membership of the LinkedIn career networking group.
Create and maintain the LinkedIn career networking group policies related to eligibility, posters, and participation guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree and three years of professional work experience in a career service, workforce development, alumni relations career development, project management, or non-profit environment. Proven volunteer management experience and utilization of best practices preferred. The ideal candidate will have program management experience including experience with marketing projects and programs. Experience using social media tools, particularly LinkedIn, and applying best social media practices. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Education and experience equivalencies may be considered
