The Haslam College of Business (HCB) at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications and nominations for an Employer Development Coordinator in the office of Professional & Career Development in the Center for Student Engagement and Success.

The College: The Haslam College of Business is home to more than 7,000 undergraduate students and 700 graduate students. Seven academic departments – Accounting and Information Systems, Business Analytics and Statistics, Economics, Finance, Management and Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management – are housed in HCB, along with non-degree programs and centers that serve the community and state. Haslam Undergraduate Business focuses on the holistic development of students to positively impact their learning and success. The Position: Reporting to the Employer Development Manager, the Employer Development Coordinator will enhance recruiting relationships to increase opportunities for undergraduate students at the Haslam College of Business (HCB). This role will work with employers to increase their brand and visibility to undergraduate business students through on-campus and virtual events. They will work to increase the recruiting opportunities available to hiring organizations and work to better connect undergraduate business students and employers for enhanced post-graduation outcomes. This is an exempt, 12-month, full-time, non-tenure track staff position. Pay Grade 7 .
Responsibilities: Successful applicants will be responsible for on-campus programming initiatives that enhance opportunities for employers to build a deep connection to the college and our undergraduate business students. Furthermore, the Employer Development Coordinator will communicate regularly with key employers, alumni, faculty/staff and other career-focused units on campus to stay informed on employers needs and develop collaborative programming when necessary. Duties may include but are not limited to:
Helps manage recruiting relationships and events to increase employer visibility and brand.
Communicate regularly with employers interested in recruiting at the Haslam College of Business.
Increase the number of employer contacts providing quality internship and full-time experiences for undergraduate students.
Plan and coordinate on-campus events connecting employers and students.
Develop strategic marketing campaigns for potential employers.
Oversee evaluation, assessment, and reporting of employer development activities.
Create new programs and initiatives to best engage employers with the HCB.
Build collaborative relationships with other units and departments to enhance employer engagement opportunities.
Travel occasionally, including overnight, to meet with employers and attend networking events
Who We’re Looking For: We are seeking a collaborative individual who can effectively communicate and build relationships with employers, faculty, staff, students, and campus/community partners. In addition, we are looking for an individual who has the organization and time management skills to coordinate multiple events with multiple constituents that require attention-to-detail, positive customer service, and regular follow-up.
Required Qualifications:
Education:Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Business, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of one-year full-time experience with recruiting from a higher education or employer perspective or experience building relationships through positions in sales or development. Related master’s degree can serve in lieu of one year experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain working relationships and professional networks
Programming or event planning experience
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; skill in preparing clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences and other written materials
Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals
Be results-driven and possess business development mindset
Strong customer service orientation
Preferred:
Familiarity with career-related technology and software, including career services management systems, for service delivery, record-keeping and reporting purposes
Fundamental knowledge of business industries and business careers that can be used to provide insights to developing employer partnerships
Experience in career center employer relations, corporate recruiting, or development preferred.
