The Assistant Director of the Career & Professional Development Center will work under the general direction of the Director of the Career & Professional Development Center in the College of Natural Sciences (CNS), to plan and organize career development and experiential learning activities for CNS undergraduates and recent alumni in cooperation with department heads and faculty.?Tailored to the needs of departments, these activities may include individual counseling, career education programs, classes, workshops, career fairs, alumni mentoring and shadowing, and career research. This position will work to provide a comprehensive student development program which serves all majors.? 

About CNS, CNS is the largest academic unit on the UMass Amherst campus. CNS includes 13 departments and two schools, serving over 7,000 undergraduate students and nearly 1,000 graduate students. CNS has a presence in 18 buildings on Campus. 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure) 

• Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of college level career counseling, advising, field placement or other relevant work experience. 
• Will consider candidates with equivalent experience/education such as: 
  • Associate’s degree and five (5) years professional work and/or administrative experience.   
  • High School Diploma/ GED and seven (7) years professional work and/or administrative experience.
