POSITION SUMMARY: This position manages the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of the Robins School of Business (RSB) tied to developing students' interest in careers in business. Working closely with the University's Career Services Office (CS), the director will serve as a focal resource for students who wish to better understand how experiential activities and career-related programs might be of benefit in helping to develop their professional business skills.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as Robins School’s primary liaison to the Career Services Office: (15%)
Partner with faculty and CS staff in planning networking events and speaking engagements, relevant to students who seek careers in business
Collaborate with CS staff in directing students and identifying alumni, faculty and Executives-in-Residence in specific disciplines who can advise the students in highly specialized industries and/or careers in business.
Serve as a career advisor for interested students, with a desired goal to get students to enhance their professional skills, manage their network, and utilize CS and Executive-in-Residence resources.
Promote existing UR campus career resources by presenting to groups such as student organizations and business fraternities, Alpha Kappa Psi and Delta Sigma Pi. Direct alumni, recruiters and undergraduate students, to appropriate contacts in the CS Office
Provide oversight of Robins School of Business (RSB) Student Organization Groups: (10%)
Serve as a RSB staff liaison between RSB student groups and advisors with related UR offices (CS and Center for Student Involvement)
Attend and facilitate monthly meetings with RSB student leaders, advisors, career advisors, and the Dean.
Facilitate annual fall RSB Student Organization Orientation with student leaders and advisors.
Partner with RSB student leadership to enhance communication among alumni and corporate partners.
Serve as director of the four-year Robins Professional Readiness Outlook (PRO) Pathway, which includes business school high-impact experiential workshops and learning opportunities. Content is related to career readiness competencies and includes the Q-camp Summit and Robins Mentoring Program, among others.
Director also works with RSB faculty involved with current experiential learning opportunities (e.g., Business Hub) to promote resources. (40%)
Recruit, train, and supervise peer ambassadors for the Q-camp Summits.
Work with Robins School staff and faculty to develop and manage all aspects of the half day Q-camp Summit (offered twice each semester).
For each conference or workshop, design agenda, and manage recruitment and marketing of students, volunteers, and presenters.
Collaborate with the CS team, including the director of employer relations, to recruit and coordinate targeted alumni and corporate engagement; design content that complements CS existing programs and resources.
Measure effectiveness of series and engage in ongoing improvement efforts.
Direct Robins School’s mentoring program: (25%)
Manage marketing, schedules, and needs for eight to ten Executives-in-Residence or super mentors
Identify and recruit mentors (alumni and corporate partners)
Recruit students to participate in program
Facilitate three to four student group fall orientation meetings
Facilitate fall mentor workshop (virtual)
Review mentee and mentor applications to match mentees/mentors for fit
Manage day-to-day management of program throughout the year, including mentor and mentee conflicts, annual fall kick-off event, and spring closing reception/workshop
Measure effectiveness of mentoring program and engage in ongoing improvement efforts
Supervise administrative coordinator: (10%)
Supervise administrative coordinator whose role (20%) supports the Center for Professional Skills and Development
Meet monthly with administrative coordinator to discuss project needs
Review administrative role and needs with director of budgeting and operations (primary administrative coordinator supervisor)
CONTACTS: Contacts are primarily within the department or function with occasional cross-functional interfaces. Some limited external customer contact on routine matters.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: This position manages 1-5 regular employees

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & experience:
Bachelor's degree required; or
Master's degree business or related field preferred
4-7 years of corporate recruiting preferred; and 4-7 years of corporate human resources or higher education administration required
SALARY STRUCTURE: Salaried Exempt Pay Grade 7 (Hiring Range $54,413.00 to $72,093.00 annually)
SCHEDULE HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5pm, 38.75 Hours per week
